| Act Bio | Born 10 and one half pounds and breach, Karyn Oliver has been doing things her own way ever since she emerged from the womb. And she came out belting, because that’s her way.While growing up in Beltsville, MD, she bumped into a world of rock ‘n roll that was surprisingly conformist, and found that girls with guitars were not often welcome. But that world has grown up, and at long last there are people to be found who not only appreciate, but love a strong woman with a strong voice. And so it begins….Karyn can be seen with her own rock band, as well as fronting the group Symbiont, and also performs as a solo or duo acoustic act. She has provided guest vocals on the recordings of such well known locals as Joe Spatarella and Woody Lissauer, and is currently working on her debut CD. Karyn also serves as President of the Baltimore Songwriters Association.
