Band: Simply Slang

Act BioHailing from Chicago, Illinois, hard rockers Simply Slang can best be described as a hybrid between classic hard rock, blues, and punk. Armed with pawnshop guitars and overdriven amps, this four-man rock band cranks out sleazy, three-minute anthems full of DIY-attitude and rock 'n' roll excess. Simply Slang, originally known as Deadline, was formed in 2002 by singer/guitarist Aaron Morales, who later solidified the band’s lineup with bassist Pat Mulcahy, drummer Jon Schang and guitarist Matt Overbee. In 2004, Simply Slang released their self-titled EP on Platinum Realm Entertainment, which yielded two hits, "Live 4 the Weekend" and "Angeline", both of which climbed to the top of Internet download charts worldwide, ultimately resulting in the band being named Australia's #1 Heavy Rock artist in May of 2005, on Australia's most popular music provider, MP3.COM.AU.
